OVERVIEW
M-Theory Music is a prominent independent record store in San Diego, California, established in 2001. A new t-shirt design was requested that remixed this beloved classic logo. We landed on a direction merging Japanese minimalism with West Coast record culture, balancing tradition, rhythm, and modern edge.

The ask was to see where we could take the beloved M-Theory logo was

WHY WE USED SCREEN PRINTING
Best for:
Large volume orders (team shirts, merch drops, uniforms)
Bold, simple designs with limited colors
Durable, long-lasting prints with strong wash resistance
Specialty inks (puff, metallic, glow, discharge)
Consistent reprints of the same design
Not advised for:
Photo-realistic or highly detailed gradient artwork
Small one-off orders (setup costs don’t make sense)
Designs with many colors (unless budget is not a concern)
Rapid turnaround customizations per shirt
