OVERVIEW
OB Hardware was looking to throw a glance backwards at a classic 1980s San Diego summer vibe
CHALLENGE
Sublimation was requested
WHAT WE DID
Worked with darker design that would sublimate well on a lighter t-shirt
WRAP UP
We looked to classic surf gear style for a design that felt easy and summer throw-on casual.
We used DTF (Direct-to-Film) Print
Best for:
Full-color artwork with gradients and photo realism
Small to mid-size production runs
Printing on a wide variety of fabrics (cotton, poly, blends, darks, lights)
Detailed designs with fine lines or small text
On-demand or fast turnaround jobs
Not advised for:
Large solid “vintage-style” breathy prints that need fabric texture showing through
Ultra-high-volume production where screen print becomes more cost-efficient
Designs requiring a completely zero-feel ink integration (it has a slight film layer)
Heat-sensitive specialty fabrics that can’t tolerate press temps
